Marcus received donated equipment as a coach at Lincoln King Academy. After moving to Cranbrook Kingswood, he became a donor himself — passing gear on to the next program that needs it.
A major delivery to the Detroit City Lions youth group: a Nautilus Smith machine, football blocking and tackling dummies, helmets, and two baseball JUGS machines — most of it donated by Holy Family Regional Catholic School.
Football equipment from Holy Family Regional School, Divine Child and Notre Dame Prep arrived in one haul — enough to outfit varsity with game and practice pads, and to launch a junior varsity program. Coach Marcus Green had his players sign a jersey and gave it to our founder.

Cranbrook Schools donated helmets to outfit the Bishop Foley varsity lacrosse team — filling an equipment gap that could have kept players off the field.
Football equipment donated by Cranbrook Institute went to the Detroit Prowl — proof that surplus gear serves programs well beyond high-school athletics.
Bikes and cardio equipment in daily use — the kind of everyday training access that most programs assume is standard.
Power House Gym in Highland Park donated six treadmills to Handoff — two went to Bishop Foley HS, and four to the Detroit City Lions for their youth center gym. Gyms give too, not just schools.

Founder Mark Zygmontowicz presented Handoff — Play It Forward to more than 100 Athletic Directors at the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA) training conference.
The presentation was met with enthusiasm and a commitment to participate from both donor and recipient schools. We look forward to partnering with the MIAAA and Michigan ADs.
