Handoff Play It Forward was founded in 2024 by Mark Zygmontowicz for the purpose of making participation in youth extracurricular activities more equitable across schools through enablement of donations of high-quality used equipment through our frictionless online platform. We are a Non-Profit awaiting formal 501(c)3 designation. The charity is guided by our Advisory Board which includes:

MARK ZYGMONTOWICZ

FOUNDER & BOARD CHAIR

Mark has been in private business for his entire career where he was involved in assisting retail and restaurant chains develop and implement real estate strategies globally. Mark’s ambition to begin Handoff Play It Forward was born out of a tragic football accident that occurred when he was 12 years old. Mark’s new journey into Handoff Play It Forward is evidence that there is good that can arise out of tragedy.

PRANAV TYAGI

BOARD MEMBER

Pranav is the Founder and CEO of Tango Analytics, which offers global organizations a software platform to manage and leverage their real estate portfolios and assets. Pranav and Mark were business partners at Tango for over 15 years and have been friends for over 20 years. Pranav is now partnering with Mark to initiate the launch of Handoff Play It Forward, and is also guiding the development of a technology platform to support its operations.

DAN LOEPP

BOARD MEMBER

President of the Loepp Foundation.

Dan was the CEO of Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Michigan for 20 years and has recently retired. Dan and his wife run the Dan Loepp Foundation supporting philanthropic organizations. Dan and Mark have been friends since their youth where they attended high school together in Detroit.

DAN ROHN

ADVISOR

Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, De La Salle Collegiate High School, Warren, MI
Dan played football at Grand Valley University in Michigan and went on to become a football coach at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. Dan brings a wealth of knowledge to Handoff Play It Forward and is instrumental in assisting us with understanding how athletic departments wade through the acquisition and disposition of equipment.

JOHN LUCAS

BOARD MEMBER

John worked for BDO USA, LLP for 40 years. At his retirement in 2018, John was the firm’s Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer and its National Director of Assurance Quality Control. In addition, John previously held the roles of the Detroit office Assurance Managing Partner and Client Service partner providing accounting, auditing and consulting services to privately-held and publicly-held corporations. John will serve on the Handoff Board and will act as our financial advisor.
